Jacob Claassen Choi

Biography

Jacob Claassen (he/him) is a Theatre Electrician, Lighting Designer, and the Lead Theatre Technician at the University of Notre Dame. Jacob holds a BA in Theatre from Goshen College and brings a strong background in both theatrical and live event lighting to every event he does. He has worked nationally as Head Electrician on tour for Monster Energy AMA Supercross and as a member of IATSE Local 187, Jacob continues to help bring Broadway tours to South Bend, including Mamma Mia!, Dear Evan Hansen, and Les Misérables. Jacob is passionate about how new technology can push the bounds of theatrical storytelling.

When Jacob isn’t backstage, he can be found trying new restaurants all over Michiana with his Fiancé and playing with his cat Gobo.
