Two-time Grammy Award winner and international opera superstar Deborah Voigt returned to the University of Notre Dame in October 2016 to continue her multi-year position as Artist-in-Residence in the Department of Music. She taught voice majors in the Department on October 27 and 28 and also coached the student performers in their preparation for Opera ND's 2016-17 production of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. A special feature of the October 2016 residency was Ms. Voigt's performance of "God Bless America" at the football game between Notre Dame and the University of Miami on Saturday, October 29:

In April of 2016, Ms. Voigt was in residence for two weeks for similar teaching activities to help the students prepare for Opera ND's world-premiere performance of Roger Steptoe's operaAs You Like It, based on the Shakespeare play:
