Notre Dame Alumnus Alex Mansour '19 Nominated for Prestigious Sabam Award

Alex Mansour '19, has been nominated for the prestigious Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. This recognition, awarded by the World Soundtrack Awards honors exceptional emerging talent in the music industry.

Mansour is a composer, cellist, and jazz pianist. His concert music has been performed by the American Youth Symphony, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and the USC Thorton Symphony, among others. He has scored films featured on Netflix, Paramount Plus, and Hulu.

Mansour received a B.A. in music cello performance, and film from the University of Notre Dame followed by a M.A. in composition from the University of Southern California in 2021.

The Sabam Award nomination places Mansour among a select group of young composers poised to make a significant impact on the future of music. The winner will be announced in October 2024.
