Notre Dame Glee Club Concert In The Leighton Concert Hall

Founded in 1915, the 65-voice Notre Dame Glee Club presents a wide-ranging repertory in several formal campus concerts as well as in dozens of informal performances at University events. The membership is drawn from all courses of study at the university.

In recent years the Club has performed on tour in over 40 U.S. states and 20 countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The Glee Club returned to international touring with a visit to Mexico in May of 2022, and will tour Europe in the spring of 2023. Among the highlights of past tours was a concert pilgrimage on foot along the Camino de Santiago in May and June of 2013.

The most recent of several Glee Club recordings is Christmas at Notre Dame with the Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra.

Notre Dame Collegium Musicum

Daniel Stowe, Director

The Collegium Musicum is a small vocal ensemble specializing in sacred and secular music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras. It is open to all members of the Notre Dame and greater South Bend community. The Collegium Musicum performs programs each spring and fall in the Reyes Organ and Choral Hall in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and periodically in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

University of Notre Dame Chorale

Alexander Blachly, Director

The Notre Dame Chorale, the University’s 60-voice concert choir, draws on students from every college and department of the University. Each fall and spring the ensemble performs a repertoire of classics and rarely heard works by composers from the Renaissance to the present in Leighton Concert Hall. In addition, the Chorale presents Handel's Messiah with the Chamber Orchestra in early December to sold-out audiences. Each year’s events also include a Winter Tour to cities across the United States in January, a concert on Friday evening during Commencement Weekend, and participation in the Baccalaureate Mass during Commencement Weekend (Saturday, mid-May). Recent international tours, always scheduled in the period just following Commencement, have taken the Chorale to France, Bavaria, Austria, Italy, Hawaii, and New Zealand.
