Biography

Norman Vesprini is the Piano Technology Program Manager at the University of Notre Dame. Originally from southeast Michigan, he earned degrees in piano performance from Central Michigan University (B.M. Piano Performance) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (M.M. Piano Performance). After nine years of teaching and performing, he made the switch from the front side to the back side of the piano by joining the piano technology department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. There he served for eleven years as Senior Piano Technician. A Steinway & Sons specialist, his areas of expertise include concert tuning, voicing and regulation, custom action design and installation, and fortepiano service. Norman trained under Robert Grijalva (University of Michigan), Patrick DeBeliso (Pianocrafters, Plymouth, MI) and in New York at the C.F. Theodore Steinway Technical Training Academy (Eric Schandall and Kent Webb).
