Join us for a virtual violin Masterclass with Visiting Associate Professor Dylana Jenson.

Dylana will not only be engaging the students in lively discussion about violin technique and music but will be performing at the end of each Masterclass with Notre Dame Professor John Blacklow, pianist.
Dylana Jenson won the Silver Medal in the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow at the age of 17. As a child prodigy and as an adult artist she has performed in Europe, Australia, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, North and South America. She recorded the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Of her performance, the New York Times stated, “A mature master. She is above praise and beyond criticism.”
Jenson has been teaching since the age of 17 in Masterclasses, summer music festivals, and music institutes around the world. In 2000 Jenson was appointed Distinguished Professor at Grand Valley State University, MI.
Inspiring musical freedom through careful attention to technical details is paramount to her teaching approach. Ms. Jenson has never experienced pain or physical discomfort during practice or performance. She attributes this to a natural physical stance that prevents spinal twisting and left arm problems.
Dylana Jenson started the violin at the age of two and a half with her mother. She then studied with Manual Compinsky, Nathan Milstein and Josef Gingold.
