Advisers

Each major will be assigned a faculty adviser who must be consulted in person to discuss the program of study before a student may register for classes.
Undergraduate majors should meet with their adviser each semester before registering for classes. During those meetings the advisee will discuss scheduling in the Department of Music, and his or her progress toward meeting University and College requirements.

Student Responsibilities
It is your responsibility as a student to:
Know where you are in your program.
Know how many credits count and where those credits are being used.
Seek appropriate advising in the departments and the dean's office in 105 O'Shaughnessy.
Basic Procedures
Departmental documents advise all first-year students to meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies before registering for classes.
Each music major is encouraged to meet with their adviser once a year to talk about their progress towards their degree.
Each music major is required to perform an annual jury or recital in order to receive feedback from faculty on their performance and musical progression.
