Andrea Mather-Stow, originally from the Buffalo, NY area, is a versatile artist equally comfortable performing on oboe, English horn or oboe d'amore. Her solo career includes concerto appearances throughout Great Britain, including St. Martin-in-the-Fields (London), Usher Hall (Edinburgh), the Sheldonian Theatre (Oxford), and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. She has performed for the South Bend Symphony Orchestra since 1982 acting as the Associate Principal Oboe and solo English horn player. She has also been a member of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and is in great demand as a freelance artist performing with many area ensembles. Andrea toured Ireland with the Notre Dame Folk Choir in 1997 and can be heard on each of four different recordings produced with that group from 1994-1999. In July 2004, she performed oboe for the premier of Frank Birch Brown's quartet, The 4 Loves, at Magdalen College in Oxford, England.

Ms. Mather-Stow graduated from the Eastman School of Music with high honors. Currently, she is on the adjunct faculties of the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary's College, Indiana University South Bend, Grace College, Goshen College and Andrew's University. In addition, she maintains a very busy private-teaching schedule, out of her home typically including 20-30 students per semester. Since 1990, Andrea has been a clinician for the American Band College at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon.
