Darlene Catello, Adjunct Instructor, performs solo and ensemble music on the harpsichord and organ, and teaches harpsichord and fortepiano at the University of Notre Dame. She also serves as organist and choir director at Hilltop Lutheran Church in South Bend. In 1987, she won the Audience Prize in the Magnum Opus Harpsichord Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ms. Catello holds an M.M. in organ performance from the University of Notre Dame and an M.M. in harpsichord performance from the University of Michigan where she studied with Penelope Crawford and Edward Parmentier. Ms. Catello directs and teaches piano and organ in the Preparatory and Continuing Studies in Music program for the University of Notre Dame Department of Music.

For the past several years, Ms. Catello has been performing with Baroque flutist Wendy Willis. In 1996, they joined with Mary Anne Ballard, and later Danielle Svonavec, to form the Baroque ensemble Fleur de Lys, which is available for concerts, lecture/demonstrations and residencies. Fleur de Lys has been trio-in-residence at Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame, Indiana) will be performing regularly at Reyes Organ Hall in the Marie P. DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts. Through the use of original instruments of the 17th and 18th centuries, Fleur de Lys seeks a purity of tone and clarity of expression valued by the musicians of that time.
