Chamber Orchestra

Alexander Blachly, director

Members of the Chamber Orchestra regularly perform large works for choir and orchestra with the Notre Dame Chorale.

The University of Notre Dame Chamber Orchestra is a select ensemble that performs with the Notre Dame Chorale in its on-campus concerts. With no more than one or two players per part, the Chamber Orchestra requires players with advanced skills. Members are selected by the director according to the needs of the particular works to be performed, which in recent years have included Haydn's The Creation and Stabat Mater, Bach's cantata Aus der Tiefen, Mozart's Vesperae solennes de Confessore, and Handel's Messiah, which is performed annually.
